The Flames Community Arenas Expansion project at Centennial Arenas included the addition of a NHL sized ice surface, change room facilities, spectator seating and an expansion to the existing parking lot. Ultimately the goal of the project was to facilitate the growing need for recreation complexes in Calgary and the surrounding areas.
The Centennial Arena’s remained fully operational with ice times scheduled 16-20 hours per day. CANA completed after hours work and scheduled all construction activities around ice times for the facility. After hours work was key to maintaining the construction schedule.
This project is LEED Silver Certified and incorporated a number of sustainable alternatives.
