CANA has been working at the Foothills Medical Centre (FMC) since 2012 on a variety of renovations in the operational hospital. Work that CANA completed included levels three, five and nine Fire Code Upgrades. These projects involved replacing all existing firm alarm devices, smoke and heat detectors, pull stations, exit signs, adding fire rated door assemblies and ensuring the fire seals were complete throughout the building.
CANA also delivered the Elevator Upgrade Project. CANA upgraded 11 elevator cars with new cab interiors, re-built elevator motors and new mechanical systems. The service side (six cars) are controlled using “destination dispatch”. This is one of the first destination dispatch systems installed in Calgary and the first ever in a hospital.
