Constructed in 1976, the Ford Tower was a response to the growing office space demand downtown. The tower is 20 stories tall and contains approximately 150,000 ft2 of space. One unique aspect of this tower was the location of the mechanical room. It was placed between the 12th and 13th floors to take advantage of gravity and pumping considerations. This design improved the building’s climate control systems, making it more energy efficient. The main level also features a large lobby with a café and restaurant space.
