The Centre for Continuous Learning is a teaching and training facility, including conference services. Capitalizing on wireless technology and video conferencing, the 8,459 m2 facility has 17 training/conference spaces and a large hall to accommodate 650 people. This was Mount Royal University’s first LEED Gold building on the campus.
The Centre is 57 per cent more efficient than a standard building and was only the second building in Calgary to be awarded LEED Gold for environmental sustainability.
Eco-friendly features include: extensive use of recycled and renewable products; abundant natural lighting; an innovative heating/cooling system to reduce energy costs; high-performance insulation and concrete building construction; and solar chimneys.
