TELUS Spark, the New Science Centre, features an HD digital dome theatre, five permanent exhibit galleries, multi-purpose space for labs, a presentation theatre, large atrium and outdoor park. The facility is used for conferences and traveling shows, along with providing stationary exhibits and space for programs. This building features a number of sustainable alternatives and achieved LEED Gold certification.
Situated on the Banks of Nose Creek beside the Calgary Zoo, TELUS Spark enhances Calgary’s natural beauty with its distinctive roof line and unique lighting system.
TELUS Spark is technically and structurally complex. The result of this complexity is an environment that is simple to understand and operationally efficient. CANA implemented the use of Building Information Modeling (BIM) technology on the HD digital dome theatre to assist with coordinating the installation of over 2000 individual pieces of steel for the structure.
