Constructed in 1985, the former Calgary Centre for the Performing Arts is centrally located in the heart of downtown Calgary. The centre was composed of three separate performance halls, all connected by a common reception/service area. The facility has since expanded, making additional three theatre spaces available. A rehearsal hall is situated on the lower level and underground parking of over 130 stalls was also constructed. A Plus-15 walkway to the Civic Plaza Parkade connects additional parking facilities to the centre.
The largest theatre, the Jack Singer Concert Hall, has a seating capacity of 1,800 people; the other two original theatres provide space for an additional 1,100 people. The facility was renamed EPCOR Centre for Performing Arts in 2001.
