Vancouver Expo Centre

Vancouver, British Columbia

Built for the 1986 World’s Fair in Vancouver, this structure, also known as the “golf ball” is actually a geodesic dome, a concept that was designed by an American inventor – R. Buckminster Fuller. The building has a volume of 36,790 cubic metres and was home to the Alcan Omnimax Theatre prior to being converted into Vancouver’s Science World. The facility was renamed TELUS World of Science in 2005.
