The WestJet Campus Office Facility, serving as the company’s world headquarters, is located at the Calgary International Airport. The building consists of six floors and an underground parkade. There is a plus 15 walkway on the second floor level of the facility, which connects the new office to the existing hangar.
Some notable areas on the first floor include a large reception area located in front of a 9250 ft2 conference centre, a walkway that connects the building to the existing hangar and a 250 seat cafeteria, which features a full Sunterra kitchen and Starbucks. Additionally, a rotating 48″ solid granite globe carved with the continents and WestJet’s logo makes up one of the main highlights as you proceed to the main entrance. CANA Own Forces were responsible for the concrete work on the project, as well as the granite globe and fountain.
The building is LEED Gold Certified. One of the facility’s most unique features is the geothermal ground loops that were installed in the building’s piles to increase efficiency when heating and cooling the building.
